(late) update on swimming and (yeah) 10 years!

"Learning to not-drown" lessons are going better.  We started going to the bathroom right before leaving and changing clothes in the van afterwards.  That helped with the Josie in the locker room.  (Although later I saw parents going through doors that I was told were locked...so maybe it would not have been a problem.)  The lessons got much more active after the first rough day.  The kids were kept busier with practice.  Theo doesn't listen as well as I'd like.  His head is normally under the water when the instructor is talking.  Or he is so close to the edge, that I see the instructor keeping a hand out to keep him from falling off.  But he tries everything they ask him to and is very enthusiastic.  Wrigley enjoys it and is doing well.  She is also leaving Theo alone more, leaving her mother role behind a bit.  Here are some pics.  Aaron came on Friday and took them.  The kids are on the far left.  They are standing on a yellow platform.

Here they are practicing kicks.
In other news Josie is my first teether.  Oh My.  She has been fussy all week.  She hasn't slept well and at times just wants to be held (Like on Tuesday when we went strawberry picking. ugh).  My other babies got their teeth much later (starting at 12 months) so this young baby teething stuff is new to me.   She is crawling all over.  She goes straight for the cords behind chairs and to the hard tile by the front door.
On Thursday we started shampooing our carpets.  Aaron ran the machine the whole time.  I so appreicated that.  It was tricker than we thought to entertain the kids in the other rooms especially since it rained steady all day.  Next time we will plan play dates with other people.  The carpets look better and I'm so glad.  We also put our furniture back in a different arrangement and the change is refreshing.

And lastly - Yesterday Aaron and I celebrated 10 years of marriage.  Marriage is better than I could have imagined.  I am so proud to me his wife.  He is an amazing man and father.

Happy Anniversary, you two! That was quite a summer - 1999...so many weddings. I think most, if not every couple has stayed together and are happily married. So cool!
